We understand that resources are limited, thus it is important to Carmeuse to utilize them in the most efficient way. That is why “SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production” is a focus of our sustainability efforts for both incoming and outgoing commodities.
Irresponsible production or use of our resources is not good for business or the environment. It all starts with our mine plan to ensure we remove the optimum material in the most efficient way, and ends with developing innovative uses for all variations of our materials. Our strategy continues to focus on acquisitions, product development and operational improvements that helps us repurpose, or minimize, material that otherwise may be treated as waste.
