Carmeuse announces the appointment of Sébastien Dossogne as the next CEO of the Carmeuse Group

Carmeuse announces the appointment of Sébastien Dossogne as the next CEO of the Carmeuse Group. Rodolphe Collinet will become the Chairman of the Board

The Board of Directors of the Carmeuse Group has taken the appropriate time to  prepare the appointment of the next CEO of the Group and to ensure that the governance framework of the company can evolve with this change. A process has been initiated to search for and identify suitable candidates for the future role of CEO of Carmeuse.

We are pleased to have selected a candidate who meets all the qualities we are looking for, who can fill the role quickly and we are happy to have been able to convince him to join the group.

Carmeuse's Board of Directors unanimously decided today to appoint Sébastien Dossogne as the next CEO of Carmeuse. Sébastien Dossogne will join Carmeuse at the beginning of November 2022 and will effectively take over as CEO on March 31, 2023. He will thus become the first CEO of Carmeuse who is not from the historical family shareholders.

Sébastien is 51 years old. He is currently CEO of Magotteaux, the leader in process optimization solutions for abrasive and impact applications in mining, cement, aggregates, quarries and recycling. Magotteaux is an expert in mining solutions and has unique expertise in all processes used in the cement and aggregate industries. At Magotteaux, Sébastien was successively Chief Financial Officer (2007-2012), Chief Sales Officer (2012-2015) before assuming the position of CEO since 2015. Prior to Magotteaux, Sébastien worked at Fortis Banking Group for 13 years, first as a credit analyst and then in Corporate Finance & Capital Markets in Belgium where he was responsible for the company. Sébastien is an electro-mechanical engineer, specialized in Mechanics, with a Master degree from the University of Liege. He has been named by Trends-Tendances Manager of the Year 2021.

Sébastien has a personality that fits perfectly with our company values. He knows family businesses. We are convinced that he will bring to Carmeuse not only his experience as CEO in an international industrial company active in more than 150 countries, but also his ability to inspire our teams, to continue and deepen our efforts of innovation and development in a changing world and thus write in the future new important pages in the long industrial history of Carmeuse.

After nearly 35 years with Carmeuse, including almost 20 years as CEO, Rodolphe Collinet will become the non-executive chairman of the Board as of April 2023, once Sébastien Dossogne has been installed as CEO.

The current Chairman of the Board, Axel Miller, will continue to participate in the Board and to carry out his roles and missions in the various specialized committees, as well as to support the Chairman in his liaison role with the company's long-term shareholders.
