Carmeuse products are used in everything from the production of chemical compounds, automotive parts, plastics, paints, rubber, greases and lubricants through to commercial leather tanning. They even find their way into certain kinds of toothpaste, as a mild abrasive agent. Lime is of course used as an alkali in the chemical industry, but also as a source of calcium, causticizing agents, desiccants, saponifying agents, bonding agents, flocculants, lubricants, and fillers.
