River Rouge Employees Help to Feed People in Need

On April 3, 2019 four Carmeuse River Rouge employees visited the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) to provide meals to homeless individuals who are recovering from substance abuse, as well as women struggling to make ends meet for themselves and their children. DRMM also provides substance abuse programs, and both transitional and permanent housing to people to prevent a return to homelessness or addiction.

Carmeuse employees Matt Gower, Chad Wright, Donna Degree-Gordon and Jacob Baith brought a variety of donated foods with them for use that day and in the future. They unloaded, prepared and served the meal along with DRMM staff members. About 30 adults and children were able to enjoy a great meal courtesy of these Carmeuse employees.

Degree-Gordon said, “It felt really good as a team to be able to brighten someone’s day and to provide a good meal. Seeing the smiles made our day.
