Our Process
Our experts at Carmeuse Systems can assist in the engineering of an entirely new lime slaking system or can upgrade/replace an existing system. Our process begins by connecting customers with one of our experts to discuss your specific needs or audit your existing system. Our experts will look at all parameters such as water temperature, lime quality, environmental factors, system age, and more.
Once we understand your needs, we will assist you in creating a plan to maximize the effectiveness of your system. Our team has a wide range of knowledge with various types of slakers and applications that become invaluable to this process.
Product (Uses)
Carmeuse Systems can provide several different styles and sizes of slaking systems to meet your needs.
Batch Slakers
Batch slakers, or mix tanks, utilize measured amounts of water and quicklime to create slurry in batches as needed.
Detention Slakers
Carmeuse Systems provides the ZMI Portec Detention Slaker. The ZMI Portec Detention Slaker slakes quicklime (particle size up to ¾”) and produces slurry with up to 30% solids.
Vertical Ball Mill Slakers
When lime or water quality is poor and/or when lime consumption rates are high, we design slaking systems utilizing a vertical ball mill. The total grinding process of a vertical ball mill utilizes all residual reaction value, virtually eliminates grit disposal problems, and significantly improves lime usage efficiency.
Portable Lime Slakers
This lime slaking unit is a plug-and-play slaking plant, no building systems, and with its trailer capability, you can transfer it easily making it both a cost effective and convenient way to use lime slurry no matter the job and/or location.
