On August 16, Carmeuse River Rouge partnered with DTE Energy and USG Corporation to provide backpacks and school supplies to local students. The backpacks were filled with back-to-school basics to empower students and set them up for success in the upcoming school year.
Carmeuse River Rouge volunteers generously participated in the giveaway, showing support and care for students in River Rouge as they head back to school.
“It’s a great feeling to know we helped to make someone’s day easier,” said Donna Degree-Gordon. “It’s always good when we can provide employees with an excellent opportunity to give back to the community in which we work.
Mayor Bowdler of River Rouge stopped by the backpack giveaway to personally thank the participants for their contributions to the community.
