The History of Storage & Transfer Technologies, Inc. and Carmeuse

STT has changed its name several times over 50 years in business, operating under the names Semco, Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc., SEMCO, Stanco Projects Ltd, ZMIPortec, and STT Enviro Corp. In 2017, Carmeuse acquired STT Enviro Corp., beginning its operation as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name Storage & Transfer Technologies, Inc. With the change to Carmeuse Systems, the company will complete its full integration into Carmeuse.

Carmeuse Systems, the new incarnation of the company, reflects the continued commitment of Carmeuse to provide End-2-End solutions to lime and limestone users with support and expertise from the production and transport of raw materials through the engineering of lime handling systems. With this change, Carmeuse is the only provider in the industry with a robust “End-2-End” offering under one name. Carmeuse Systems will continue the legacy of engineering lime handling and slaking systems while expanding its capabilities in response to the evolving needs of the customer base.

Carmeuse Systems inherits a rich history of excellence within the name. The Carmeuse Group, founded in 1860, has established a legacy as a leader in providing high-quality lime and limestone-based products across various industries. The group's extensive global presence and commitment to sustainability have made it a trusted partner for customers worldwide.

"We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter as Carmeuse Systems. This transformation represents our commitment to support our customers from End-2-End by offering support and expertise throughout the lifetime of your lime handling system.” said Phil Piggot, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Carmeuse.

The rebranding process, including changes to the company's name, logo, and digital presence, will be completed by March 28, 2024. During this period, clients, partners, and stakeholders can expect a seamless transition and uninterrupted service.
