Port Inland Hosts Fish Hatchery Trout Release

On April 28, our Port Inland operation hosted a trout release with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Jordan River National Fish Hatchery. About 120,000 trout raised in the hatchery were released into Lake Michigan from the Port Inland dock.

The Jordan River National Fish Hatchery produces native fishes for stocking into the Great Lakes for restoration and to support recreational programs. Said Scott Whitman of Port Inland.

“We were thrilled that our site was asked to be the location for this year’s trout release. It was a great opportunity to be a part of this program.”
