James River Site Donates to New Freedom Farms
On June 26, Carmeuse’s James River operation donated 50 tons of Crusher Run gravel and 100 tons of #10 Stone to New Freedom Farm, a local non-profit community farm that aids veterans with PTSD, Substance Abuse and Traumatic Brain Injury by providing equine and farm therapy.
The farm recently flooded after a storm, shifting the existing gravel and stone. James River’s donation helped to clean up the equestrian paths to support the therapies the farm provides.
"After the farm was flooded by a storm, we wanted to help by resurfacing the equestrian paths,” said John Loan, Production Supervisor. “We hope this donation will help to support the farm’s mission of providing equine therapy for veterans.”
