Dundas Operation Receives “Thank You” Letters from Local Organizations

This June, Carmeuse’s Dundas operation sponsored eight awards for high school graduates through the Compass Community Health Pathways to Education program. The operation also donated face masks to women and children residing at the Interval House of Hamilton, a local emergency shelter.

The Compass Community Health Pathways to Education Program is designed to reduce poverty and its effects by increasing graduation rates and empowering youth to pursue post-secondary education. This year, Carmeuse’s Dundas operation sponsored eight awards, including the inaugural Carmeuse Spirit of Resilience Award.

The Dundas operation also donated fabric face masks to the Interval House of Hamilton, an emergency shelter providing refuge for women and children experiencing violence and abuse.

“With the help of donations from supporters like Carmeuse, more and more youth across Hamilton are preparing for their future by empowering themselves to reach their goals and realize their potential.”  wrote Jack Bernacki, Pathways to Education Manager.

Equally grateful toward Carmeuse was Nancy Smith, Executive Director, Interval House in writing, “Once again thank you so much for caring enough to give. With your help, we will continue to provide twenty-four-hour safe emergency shelter to courageous women and children.”
