This December, Carmeuse River Rouge donated coats to local children through the No Kid Without a Coat program. For the second year, Carmeuse employees contributed by donating new coats children in time for the holidays.
Warm coats protect children from the winter weather experienced in River Rouge, allowing them to enjoy the snow and stay focused in school. “Research shows that winter coats increase school attendance and concentration,” said Donna Degree-Gordon of Carmeuse.
“Coats are a necessity in River Rouge. Unfortunately for some families, buying a new coat can be difficult,” said Degree-Gordon. “Our generous employees donated coats to help keep local children warm and bring joy this holiday season.”
