The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation awarded nine U.S. ports in the Great Lakes the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award for shipping a record volume of international cargo last year. This award is presented to select Great Lakes ports that demonstrate significant increases in international tonnage season over season.
A central driver behind this achievement was the team at the Carmeuse Erie Dock operation working alongside the Port of Erie. Together, these operations handled over one million tons of cargo in 2025.

Celebrating the Team Behind the Success
Milestones like this are built from the ground up by the dedicated crew operating the dock, managing logistics, and hauling materials daily. To recognize our team members and logistics partners, Carmeuse hosted two appreciation events:
- Carmeuse Erie Dock Team Celebration: Dock crew members gathered to celebrate with lunch and desserts provided by two local food vendors.
- Trucker Appreciation at the Scalehouse: Appreciation extended to the drivers keeping our supply chains moving. Drivers visiting the scalehouse received lunch and treats as part of a dedicated Trucker Appreciation event.
