Western PA Port Authority has been awarded the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award
The Western PA Port Authority has officially been awarded the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award, a honors distinction presented to select Great Lakes ports that demonstrate significant increases in outbound international tonnage cargo season over season. Out of the entire Great Lakes network, only nine ports earned the honor this year—marking the eighth time the Western PA Port Authority has taken home the award.
A central driver behind this achievement was the team at Carmeuse Erie Dock Operation, working alongside the Port of Erie. Together, operations handled over one million tons of cargo in 2025.

Celebrating the Team Behind the Success
Milestones like this are built from the ground up by the dedicated crew operating the dock, managing logistics, and hauling goods daily. To say thank you to the team members and logistics partners:
- Carmeuse Erie Dock Team Celebration: Dock crew members gathered to celebrate with lunch and desserts provided by two local food vendors.
- Trucker Appreciation at the Scalehouse: The appreciation extended out to the drivers keeping our supply chains moving. Truck drivers visiting the scalehouse were treated to lunch and dessert as part of our Trucker Appreciation celebration.
