Throughout the day, more than 1,200 students, counsellors and educators came to meet manufacturers from around the region, including Carmeuse who was one of the sponsors and exhibitors of the event. Carmeuse was represented by Brian Burke and Tina Elder of their Erie Dock Operation, and Vickie Kent, Ohio Region HR Manager.

“The event provides the opportunity for students to learn about the high-paying careers that are available in manufacturing,” said Kent.

In the evening, about 1,000 business leaders attended the 116th Annual Event Cocktail Reception which included a keynote address from retired four-star US Nave Admiral William McRaven. “The reception is a great opportunity to introduce our company and showcase our products to this influential audience,” said Burke, Dock Manager at the Carmeuse Erie Dock.

Founded in 1905, the MBA is a trusted resource of information and services for employers across Pennsylvania, northeastern Ohio and southwestern New York.
