Carmeuse Majan - A Decade of Growth and Strategic Expansion

Carmeuse Majan SFZ, strategically located in the city Salalah, Oman, came to life in 2012. This venture was born from the collaboration between Carmeuse, GP Group, and Kunooz Holding.

Initially, Carmeuse Majan targeted the Indian steel market. However, through strategic planning and execution, it has successfully expanded its market base to encompass Southeast and East Asia. Moreover, CMMJ has diversified its target market segments beyond steel, now serving the paper, sugar, and chemical industries. Owing to the superior quality of raw material, excellent operational management and effective timely customer service as well as efficient supply chain management, Carmeuse Majan is highly regarded as a quality leader in the Middle East and Asia regions.

To capitalize on the increasing lime demand in India and target countries, Carmeuse Majan plans to expand its production capacities in Oman by approximately 145kT/year through the addition of a new kiln (K4). Lime production from kiln 4 is anticipated to commence in the second half of June 2025.

Kiln 4 - Expansion Project Highlights

The engineering phase of the K4 project has incorporated many lessons learned to ensure optimal productivity and consistent high-quality lime production. The project has issued 275 purchase orders to procure various equipment and components. It is expected to consume approximately 50 kilometers of electrical cables and utilize around 1715 metric tons of structural material.

As of March 28, 2025, the project has recorded 406,650 safe man-hours with zero accidents, demonstrating our commitment to safety and efficient project management. We look forward to the successful completion and operationalization of the K4 kiln, which will further strengthen our market position and
continue to deliver value to our customers.
