What We Do in Roofing Material Manufacturing
Carmeuse produces ground calcium carbonate which is used in the manufacturing of high-quality roofing shingles by industrial manufacturers. Incorporating ground calcium carbonate into the production process for roofing shingles has a number of benefits like increased stiffness and durability to increase the products’ longevity. In addition to increasing the durability of the product, GCC can also provide additional flame retardancy to increase home safety.
When producing asphalt-based roofing shingles, ground calcium carbonate can be used as a filler which allows for reduced production costs by displacing the need for other, more expensive raw materials.
