River Rouge Donates Breakfast to STEM Academy and Fire and EMS Department

This October, Carmeuse’s River Rouge operation donated breakfast foods to students in need at the River Rouge STEM Academy and the local Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department. The site frequently partners with the STEM Academy through education and volunteer opportunities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many students at the STEM Academy continue to learn remotely from home. The site donated meals to more than 50 families to ensure that students in need have access to healthy and nutritious breakfasts.

Breakfast meals were also donated to the local Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department. The site provided warm food to these essential workers as they continue to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have strived to continue and grow in our community involvement and become more engaged,” said Matt Gower, Area Operations Manager. “We give back to the community because it is the right thing to do.”
