Carmeuse supports National Apprenticeship Week

Carmeuse supports National Apprenticeship Week

The Human Resources Department at Carmeuse has provided support to several programs towards apprenticeships in the manufacturing sector. Many of our career fairs recruit candidates seeking employment in these professions.

Led by Becky Walker and Lisa Wellman, recently Maysville conducted a program and interviewed several candidates for the Electrical Pre-Apprentice Program by which 10 strong candidates were selected.

Now, Sean Campbell, Skilled Trades Coordinator at Carmeuse, is participating in and promoting “National Apprenticeship Week, (NAW)” throughout Carmeuse.

Sean explains that NAW is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of registered apprenticeship for re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities. NAW is an opportunity to highlight how registered apprenticeship, a proven and industry-driven training model, provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges.

Sean expresses his gratitude towards all mentors, supervisors, and apprentices in the Carmeuse organization.
