Carmeuse Provides Quality Mentoring for Youth Apprenticeships in Maysville

Carmeuse Provides Quality Mentoring for Youth Apprenticeships in Maysville

On April 18th and 19th the Carmeuse Talent & Training Team was in Maysville for a 2nd annual Parent’s Night at Mason County Career Magnet School. The school is one of 53 centers across Kentucky with 194 students in grades 9–12.

The students pursue certifications in Health Science, Automotive Technology, Machine Tool, Welding and Electrical Technology and Sean Campbell—Skilled Trades Coordinator at Carmeuse was on hand to discuss Carmeuse’s Youth Apprenticeship Program to them.

The Youth Apprenticeship Program has been very successful, having provided quality opportunities for high school students in the electrical trade. Substantiating the program’s success, 3 apprentices from 2022 were hired by Carmeuse this year, creating high expectations for next year’s class.

The Youth Apprenticeship Program at Carmeuse requires much help, and Sean Cambell was quick to express gratitude towards his colleagues, “Thank you Erin Anderson, Lisa Wellman, John Lykins, Roger Botkins and Harold Hoskins for making this night and program so successful!”
