Carmeuse Grand River receives continued expressions of gratitude by the local community

Carmeuse Grand River receives continued expressions of gratitude by the local community

When Carmeuse reaches out to its communities, the impact is often long lasting. In 2017, the Grand River Operation sponsored a new pavilion at the Merrick Hutchison Memorial Park in the Grand River Village.

The park where the pavilion was raised has been a longtime memorial site for the first enlistee from Grand River Village to die in World War One.  Local sentiments run deep around the commemorative celebration and Carmeuse supported the new pavilion with a sponsorship gift towards an overall $100,000 capital improvement grant secured by the state of Ohio.  Carmeuse employees also regularly contribute by volunteering time for ongoing work at the park. Carmeuse itself joined in the debut of the new pavilion by hosting a company picnic there.

This February, the Grand River Town Hall posted a message on their main sign as a continued acknowledgment towards the support from Carmeuse. Brian Horvath, Site Operations Manager at Grand River, was obviously moved in saying, “The ongoing, public recognition by the community towards Carmeuse is a great honor. Our employees truly embrace the local region and the message was well received by them.”
