The FISH! Philosophy

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” -  Andrew Carnegie

In the USA, we have adopted the FISH PHILOSOPHY. As we all work hard every day for a large company, we think that it is positive to recognize the work of our colleagues, and to thank them for it. It is also important to understand how our reactions have consequences on others. The question that has to be asked is: “Does my attitude help my team or my customers? Does it help me be the person I want to be?”

BE THERE is at the basis of the Fish Philosophy: as an employee of Carmeuse, you are there for the people who need you. You listen attentively, without making a judgement. Being there for others - family, friends, colleagues or people you don’t know - doesn’t require that much time and effort! Because, as adults, there are many of us who have forgotten how we used to play, the Fish Philosophy encourages us to bring a spirit of joy, of innovation, of light-heartedness and of confidence in all aspects of life, even (and maybe above all) in our work.

Having fun while working contributes to higher job satisfaction, positively impacting employees by reducing stress. By embracing a flexible and fun environment, we are showing our employees that they are what are most important to our company. Happy employees result in happy customers and well-prospering company.
