SAFE AND EASE OF USE

AquaCalco® M50 is a ready-to-use milk of lime formulated to adjust pH levels, or add needed alkalinity to industrial effluent, sludge and wastewater systems. Due to it being a consistent and uniform liquid, AquaCalco® M50 is easy to feed, monitor, and control, minimizing the amount of time and labor required to run your operation.

AquaCalco® M50 is deemed to be non- corrosive to metals therefore this product is not classified as dangerous goods (class 8, packaging group III).  According the EC No 1272/2008 the product is deemed as non-corrosive to skin.

Due to the non-hazardous nature of the AquaCalco® M50 when compared to other chemicals like Caustic soda it simplifies storage, permitting, handling and shipping.

HIGH NEUTRALIZING VALUE

In addition to the lower cost per % of dry matter, AquaCalco® M50 has a potency advantage in comparison to other common reagents on a dry basis. From a theoretical standpoint, the following approximate weights of other bulk products are required to substitute 1 ton of dry matter of the AquaCalco® M50.

  • 1.08 dry ton of caustic soda
  • 1.43 dry ton of sodium carbonate.
  • 1.51 dry ton of potassium hydroxide
  • 2.27 dry ton of sodium bicarbonate.

COST EFFICIENT AND TCO REDUCING SOLUTION

AquaCalco® M50 is less expensive than other neutralizing chemicals. In comparison with caustic soda, the AquaCalco® M50 is almost half the price.
Unlike the most common chemicals used for pH neutralization, like caustic soda, that can experience strong price fluctuations and availability issues over the course of a year, making it more difficult for users to budget for their reagent spending, the AquaCalco® M50 is a stand-alone product with a natural and mineral origin, for which Carmeuse can guarantee a good availability and stable pricing.

Besides the lower product cost the AquaCalco® M50 can improve the TCO as it will also improve coagulation, dewatering, reduce Fluorides, Phosphates, Sulfates and more, reducing the total reagents costs in your water treatment.

STABILITY

The AquaCalco® M50 has an improved stability versus normal milk lime suspensions. The sedimentation stability is more than 100 times higher than a standard milk of lime suspension. This enables an easier handling and dosing of the product. The product can be supplied in bulk and in IBC’s. For product supplied in IBCs, customers report better product utilization. This is an added advantage for our distribution partners, responsible for the intermediate storage and forwarding on of the AquaCalco® M50.
