Waste- and drinking water treatment
	Lime is an essential reagent for waste and drinking water treatment . It is especially used to: correct the pH factor of excessively acidic waters and prevent dissolved metals from becoming insoluble and precipitating as metal hydroxides; precipitate phosphates, sulphates and fluorides as easily recoverable insoluble calcium salts; remineralise excessively soft water (aggressive to pipes); decarbonate excessively hard water to prevent scaling of pipes.
