Precipitated Calcium Carbonate

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate, also called PCC, is a synthetic calcium carbonate. This product is produced by the reaction of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). This process generates a very white and pure calcium carbonate with a controlled crystalline structure. These products are used in a wide range of applications, including the production of office paper. The chemical and physical properties of the lime are key parameters of the process. Carmeuse offers products and technical support to achieve the optimal PCC production.
