Argon Oxygen Decarburization

To achieve stainless steel smelting and refining in an AOD, the entire process requires extremely tight controls. A typical EAF practice would be first to melt down under a basic reducing slag. A well-controlled AOD includes selecting the raw materials through refining and casting. Carmeuse high quality lime with low CO2 and low SiO2 are preferred to reach best desulphurization efficiency with low slag volume, low carbon pickup and optimum alloy recovery.
