Moha, September 26, 2014 - Carmeuse has officially opened its new lime hydrator, installed on its Moha site. This facility allows Carmeuse to increase its production capacity, and transform lime into high performance hydrate to meet the most stringent standards in the market, including those required by the food industry. This investment confirms the commitment and full participation of Carmeuse to maintain and develop its industrial base in Wallonia.
Carmeuse Lime & Stone, the industry leader in supplying lime products and related technology for steelmaking, has always had strong relationships with customers in the steel industry. Carmeuse’s ability to provide the steel industry with a variety of natural solutions in terms of lime and limestone products critical to steelmaking, was the main message the company wanted to get across at the recent AISTech2014, The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition, held in Indianapolis, IN.
On March 21st, Carmeuse Lime & Stone closed on its acquisition of a majority interest in Procecal S.A.S., a lime company headquartered in Medellin, Colombia. Procecal will be constructing a vertical 300 tonne per day lime kiln and hydrator. The existing stockholders of Procecal will retain a significant interest in the company and remain active in its management.
